Montenegrin operator Crnogorski Telekom (CT) has been ordered to lower its calling rates from 1st July.
After analysing CT’s pricing model, the country’s regulator EKIP (Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services) has determined that the operator must cut the cost of calls from its fixed network to mobile and fixed networks by 10% and 5% respectively.
This would force CT to charge €0.0474 (US$0.0532) per minute for peak calls to mobile networks, €0.0321 for off-peak mobile calls, and €0.0365 for fixed calls. Additionally, EKIP has also ordered CT to lower the cost of its wholesale monthly ADSL packages by 10%.
EKIP has also examined the relative market dominance of the country’s operators alongside their pricing models. Following this, it has ordered CT, Telenor and m:tel to lower their wholesale call termination fees by 11.8% for mobile networks and 15.5% for fixed networks.
